Mrs Gerrish's Grotto

Mrs Gerrish is back to spend Christmas with us! The waspish 50’s seaside landlady may have bitten off more than she can chew this time though.

Jumping on the fashionable bandwagon of The Package Holiday, Brenda optimistically opens for an action-packed Christmas programme. Maybe the slapdash Barry can keep up but will he be eaten alive by the ferocious Mrs Gerrish Snr? Perhaps Mrs Gimlet could peel a few sprouts…

At 4pm on Christmas Eve The Lord Mayor will be switching on The Weston Illuminations which will certainly set the season of goodwill off with a bang. What could possibly go wrong?

“The Ministry of Entertainment, the company does not contravene the Trades Description Act!” The Stage on Mrs Gerrish’s Guesthouse

“I laughed a lot ....  beautifully badly danced version of ‘Be-Bop-a-Lula’... in stitches.” mumstreet.wordpress.com

“.....Kate's terrific rendition of What a Difference a Day Makes. She also makes the most of her own script to keep the laughter flowing at a good rate throughout the evening.”  Gerry Parker  (Reviewer BEP)

“It was a treat to see you and Ross on such good form last night. You have such a nice way of having fun with the oddities of the 50's without mocking the grey-haired members of the audience for whom it was their heyday.. And it looked great. I was so pleased that you'd managed to light the lettering on the grotto without drowning any of the white dots of the LEDs (the business with the wiring and the audience was lovely, by the way).” Di Steeds

“We thought it was one of your funniest yet. For some reason Mrs. Gimlet gave me the absolute giggles and the guy in front of me was in hysterics.  We sat with another couple from Cleeve who agreed it would be fab at the Village Hall next November. Just about to go back to my roots at the hairdressers!!!! Theresa Scott

“As always, the acting and singing was super and it certainly got my Christmas off to a good start. Paula

“I just love Mrs. Gerrish.”  John
